It was about "excitement" aka profit, and the Hamilton/Merc dominance was less exciting and less profitable. That's why 3021 car regs were changed to make it more exciting. That's why Masi backflipped on his original call (maybe forced) to one that broke multiple rules and was 100% going to alter the outcome. It's like MLB breaking the rules in the bottom of the 9th in game 7 because people are getting bored that the Yankees are going to win yet another World Series title, and their opponent hasn't won one yet. Or poor England are going to lose another cricket or football match, and they don't want English fans to stop watching and stop buying merch. F1 is all about money, that's why Zhou is racing and Piastri is not. That's why Ocon missed a year, that's why many are in ahead of others who actually have more talent.31-12-2021 12:01

It's also people who loved F1 as a sporting contest, rather than one that's determined by money. Haven't found many people who don't hate Hamilton who side with the ridiculous last gasp decision that they knew would alter the result despite breaking multiple rules of the sport.31-12-2021 11:54

Well, you just did make it up. It literally says right there that Verstappen also gave him a special Honda car. Checo is a great teammate for Max, he's also a calming influence for Max as well as someone who can fight for him on the track, and Max really appreciates it.25-12-2021 09:55

F1 making less money because Hamilton/Mercedes dominance was "less exciting." That's why they changed car regulations for this season to be "more exciting" and changed Masi's legal call to one that broke multiple rules to make the finish "more exciting." Next year they might decide Hamilton getting his deserved 8th is more profitable than Max getting a second.25-12-2021 01:52

It's bad coaching because you want to train children to be good at a professional level, not at a junior level. Jos and Horner are the reasons why Max is often unsettled, angry and impatient. If not for Checo being a calming influence, he wouldn't have won't the title. But if Max had a better team environment, he would have sewn the title up before the final race.23-12-2021 12:08
